OUR HISTORY: 1988-2018

It makes me very proud that from humble beginnings 30 years ago, Bob Woolmer Sales has developed into the thriving business it is today, a familiar and respected name in school sport, both nationally and internationally.
Countless times I have been asked how the company got its name so this seemed like a good time to offer a small explanation.
The late Bob Woolmer played cricket for Kent and England. During the winter months when not on tour with England, Bob played hockey for Tonbridge Hockey Club and that is where our friendship began.
In the 80s, Bob opened a sports shop in Tonbridge called Bob Woolmer Sports, which I managed for him. After deciding to move to South Africa with his wife and family a few years later, he sold the business and allowed me to use his name to set up Bob Woolmer Sales, offering sports equipment to schools. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity. Though he was never involved in the business, he always showed a keen interest, buying coaching products from me until his untimely death in 2007 whilst managing Pakistan at the World Cup in The West Indies.
My business has been built on a desire to offer competitive prices coupled with friendly informative advice, something that I still hold dear today. With our network of Sales Advisors, both on the road and in the sales office, I am still committed to building and maintaining strong personal relationships with our customers, setting us apart from our competitors.
I would like to thank every one of you for supporting me over the years, some of you since day one, and I look forward to welcoming new customers in the future.
We now have our comprehensive e-commerce site www.woolmersales.co.uk, which is managed by our in house designer, Lewis, backed up with the usual level of service Bob Woolmer Sales has built itself on.
